About Her

My name is Abiola (Ganiyat) Otenaike. I am a wife, a mother of two, an entrepreneur, an interior designer, a content creator, and a Master of Public Health candidate with a passion for maternal and child health. I am a woman who believes in continuous learning, purposeful living, and using what I know and experience to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. I am also the founder of Fovero Interiors, where I create beautiful, functional spaces that reflect their personalities and lifestyles. I am building Motherhood Journey with Abiola, a platform dedicated to pregnancy, postpartum life, motherhood, childcare, and maternal and child health education. Through this platform, I hope to make reliable information more accessible, encourage informed decisions, and create a supportive space where mothers can learn, grow, and feel understood. My journey brings together creativity, education, entrepreneurship, faith, and service. I am still learning, evolving, and building, and I believe there is room for women to pursue their purpose while embracing the different seasons of their lives.

Her Motherhood Journey

My motherhood journey has been one of love, learning, sacrifice, growth, and self-discovery. Becoming a mother changed my understanding of responsibility, patience, and what it means to care deeply for another human being. Like many mothers, I have had to navigate the demands of caring for my children while trying to nurture my personal growth, professional ambitions, marriage, and sense of identity. Motherhood has stretched me in ways I could not have fully anticipated, teaching me that some seasons require strength, others require support, and many require both. My experiences have also deepened my interest in maternal health, particularly the realities women face during pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and the transition into motherhood. This is one of the reasons I am passionate about maternal and child health education. I want to contribute to a world where women are better informed, mothers are supported beyond childbirth, and conversations about the realities of motherhood are honest, respectful, and helpful.

What She Enjoys Most

What I enjoy most about being a mother is witnessing my children's growth and discovering the world through their eyes.

A Challenge She's Overcome

One of my greatest challenges has been learning to navigate the demands of motherhood while maintaining a sense of identity beyond being a wife and mother. I am learning to give myself grace, accept support, take things one step at a time, and recognise that pursuing my purpose does not make me any less committed to my family. My journey has taught me that strength is not always about pushing through alone. Sometimes, it is about acknowledging your limits, asking for help, and allowing yourself the room to grow.

What She's Building

I am currently building two meaningful ventures that reflect different aspects of my purpose. Through Fovero Interiors, I am working towards growing a trusted interior design brand known for thoughtful design, functionality, quality, and spaces that reflect the people who inhabit them. Through Motherhood Journey with Abiola, I am developing a maternal and child health education platform that creates accessible, evidence-based, and relatable content for mothers and mothers-to-be. My goal is to help women make informed decisions, understand their maternal health journeys better, and feel less alone through the different stages of motherhood. I am also pursuing my Master of Public Health, with focus on maternal and child health, and developing my skills in program and project coordination, digital education, and community engagement. Recent milestone: I am developing Motherhood Unfiltered With Abiola, an initiative that brings mothers, women, and knowledgeable voices together for conversations about identity, maternal wellbeing, child health, and community support. This year's theme is "The Woman, Her Health, The Child and The Village", airing 24th October 2026, 5-7pm WAT, live on the Motherhood Journey with Abiola YouTube channel.

One Lesson Motherhood Taught Her

Motherhood has taught me that you can love your children deeply and still need time, support, rest, and room to grow as an individual. Being a good mother does not mean losing yourself completely in the process. It means learning to care for your children while also recognising that your wellbeing, dreams, and personal development matter.

Her Advice to Other Moms

I believe every mother's story deserves to be heard with compassion. Behind every mother is a woman with her own experiences, challenges, dreams, and aspirations. My hope is that through my work, I can contribute to a community where women feel informed, supported, encouraged, and empowered to embrace their journeys with greater confidence. Give yourself grace, accept support, and remember that pursuing your purpose does not make you any less committed to your family.
