MomCircleNG ("we", "our", "the platform") operates the MomCircleNG mobile app and website at momcircleng.app. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to all users of the app and website.

- Account details — name, email address, and password when you register
- Profile information — your parenting stage, city/location, interests, and profile photo
- Personal content — your daily reflections, journal entries, to-do list items, community posts, questions you ask, and reviews you write
- Community & events — RSVPs, event attendance, marketplace and Give & Swap listings you create
- Newsletter — your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data (which articles you read, course progress) so the app can show relevant content
- Basic device and browser information
Payments: Membership and other digital items (such as e-books and courses) are purchased on the website only. Physical marketplace products may be purchased in the app or on the website. All payments are processed by Paystack, a third-party payment processor, and we do not store your card details on the platform.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide your account and the features you use (reflections, journals, courses, community)
- To send you the newsletter and service updates (you can unsubscribe from newsletters at any time)
- To keep the community safe and enforce our community rules
- To improve the platform and understand which content helps moms most
We never sell your personal data.
3. Community Visibility
Posts you write in community spaces, reviews, and public profile information are visible to other members. Your reflections, journal entries, and to-do list are private to you.
4. AI Assistant (Ask Mama AI)
Conversations with Ask Mama AI are used to provide responses to your questions. Ask Mama AI provides general information only — it is not medical, mental health, or professional advice.
5. Data Sharing
We share data only with service providers that help us run the platform (e.g., email delivery, hosting, payment processing), and only as needed to provide the service. We may disclose information if required by law.
6. Data Retention & Account Deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings page. Deleting your account removes your profile, reflections, journal entries, to-do lists, and community posts from our systems, except where we are legally required to retain records (e.g., transaction records). If you leave the platform without deleting your account, inactive accounts may be deleted after 24 months.
7. Your Rights (Nigeria NDPR)
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation, you may request access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your data. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
8. Children's Privacy
MomCircleNG is intended for adult mothers and parents. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Content about children (e.g., health articles) is written for parents, and we do not ask for children's personal data.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we treat your trust seriously.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
